MoCo Democrat claims elections rigged after only getting 98% of Vote
After local Montgomery County election results were announced last Tuesday, the Democratic candidate for County Council, Daisy Biggerson accused her Republican challenger, Gary Hirster, of rigging the elections. This comes after it was announced that Biggerson had only won 98.24% of the vote, the lowest margin for a Democrat in decades. “It is outrageous that Trump-loving Republicans like Mr. Hirster can disrupt our democracy like this.” a spokesman for the Biggerson campaign said, “The people of Montgomery County deserve better.” A full investigation has been launched by the Montgomery County Board of Elections despite the incident's low impact. Diggerson claims that Republican voters tampered with voting machines by “Putting their grubby little conservative hands all over them.”
Hirster, who has run over 24 positions within Maryland due to minimal competition for the Republican nomination. “These darned liberals are always trying to frame us… for the fraud, but we all know the real fraud already happened in 2020.” He said in a speech last week, this quote is heavily edited to condense a lengthy and frequently incoherent rant. “If we had rigged it I would be in the County Council Mansion by now… We will defeat these liberals with facts and logic.” The Maryland state Republican Party declined to comment on the matter, simply remarking that “The result of this election was not extremely vital to the Republican Party agenda.” Many local democrats are challenging Biggerson’s claims as well, one state senator, Joe Achibaldfather said “No matter the result of the investigation, we won the election. We should move on to more pressing cases like the increasing drug crisis in our schools and the upcoming Operation Uproot.”
One supporter of Biggerson, State Party Chairperson Jonathan Through said “Let us address the elephant in the room. We should be worrying about the underlying problems, like the presence of Republicans at all in MoCo. Why do we let them vote at all?” Another news organization, much smaller than the Silver Splinter called the Washington Post, reported that the number of claims of election fraud has increased immensely over the past several years since Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. This particular claim however is one of the first from the Democratic side of the aisle. The results of the investigation are expected next month once the Board of Elections resolves last month’s dispute over who filled out over 19,000 ballots with smiley faces drawn over every Democrat’s name.
