Interview: The founder of the "Looks Good on my College Resume Club" talks about their journey

Archibald Sprinkle, the founder and Austere Leader of the Looks Good on my College Resume Club was interviewed by the Silver Splinter last week to talk about his journey in establishing this new club.

The Silver Splinter: Austere Leader Sprinkle, what is the goal of this new club? What do you hope to achieve?

Sprinkle: I appreciate the use of my title. You know, I see all these clubs that are so similar and all seem to do the same things, they are all so charity focused. But we all know that if they put their efforts together they would be able to do so much more but they don’t because being a club founder is more prestigious than being a club president. That is what the LGCR Club aims to rectify.

The Silver Splinter: So why did you not join one of them, why make your own?

Sprinkle: Oh come on, we all know no one actually cares about charity, it is all just so that people can say they founded a club dedicated to helping people, blah blah blah. My club turns back to the thing that actually matters, the student’s resume.

The Silver Splinter: So your club does not actually do anything?

Sprinkle: Of course not, you just apply, pay your dues, get a title, and stick it on your resume. Our sponsor gets paid his extra stipend and everyone feels better about their college prospects, the best of all worlds. And, best yet, everyone is always a founder.

The Silver Splinter: What struggles have you encountered while creating this club?

Sprinkle: Well, there are a lot of people out there who are resistant to change, people who are haters. They aim to stop ambitious and determined people like me from realizing our dreams. They called LGCR, “Not a real club”. They tried to stop us but we fought back.

The Silver Splinter: Austere Leader Sprinkle, what are your suggestions for other students looking to create clubs of their own. Note that I ask for others as of course,The Silver Splinter is the most successful club in Blair history.

Sprinkle: Well, know that you, and more importantly your resume, have a place at LGCR and that we turn away no one, providing of course you pay your dues. If you want to go out there into the world and pad your resume as well, look for things that don’t require a lot of effort. “Organizing a fundraiser” is always a good one, “Helping People” is sufficiently vague, and “Promoting Inclusivity” is very easy when you don’t do anything.

The Silver Splinter: Thank you for your time Austere Leader Sprinkle, we appreciate you sitting down with us.

Editor’s Note: The Looks Good on my College Resume Club has disbanded following the realization that SGA was already a thing.
